Software Applications Engineer : Cambridge
Software Applications Engineer with at least 4 years experience of embedded software development, including coding (preferably C*C++), testing and debugging required. High calibre graduates with less experience may also be considered for a more junior variant of this role. You will have experience of microprocessors or microcontrollers, and a good understanding of the interaction between software and hardware. Some experience of Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) also an advantage. Good communication and inter-personal skills are essential, and you should have enthusiasm and drive, the ability to schedule own workload and plan tasks, the ability to work well within a team especially when under pressure, and a willingness to be flexible and accept new challenges. You must have a good degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Electronic Engineering. Other science graduates with relevant experience may also be considered. This is a great opportunity for Software Engineers to join our client who is a leading provider of 16*32-bit embedded RISC microprocessor solutions in Cambridge. You will join the Product Support Group to provide specialist advice on the usage of the development systems. You will be required to work closely with other engineers to obtain an excellent knowledge of the products and to provide input on future developments. You will then use this understanding to provide customers with the knowledge they require for designing the software into their new products.
